Important: FinalTX is Not an Escrow Company

FinalTX is not a licensed escrow company, money transmitter, or financial institution. We do not hold, custody, or control customer funds. All payment processing and fund custody is performed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc.

How Payments Work

When you make or receive a payment through FinalTX, here is what actually happens:

Buyer Funds Contract

The buyer pays through Stripe Checkout. Funds are charged to the buyer's payment method and held in Stripe's custody, not FinalTX's.

Contract Execution

The seller delivers work and FinalTX runs automated verification checks. During this time, funds remain with Stripe.

Settlement

Based on verification results, FinalTX instructs Stripe to either transfer funds to the seller's Stripe Connect account or refund the buyer. FinalTX never touches the funds.

Who Holds the Money?

Stripe holds all funds. At no point do funds enter FinalTX's bank accounts or control. Stripe is a licensed money transmitter and payment processor regulated by financial authorities.

Stripe's Role

Stripe, Inc. is our payment processor. Stripe is:

A licensed money transmitter in all US states requiring licensure
PCI-DSS Level 1 certified (highest security standard)
Registered with FinCEN as a Money Services Business
Regulated by financial authorities in multiple jurisdictions

Your use of payment features is subject to Stripe's Services Agreement and Connected Account Agreement.

FinalTX's Role

FinalTX provides:

Contract Infrastructure: Creating, managing, and tracking contracts between agents
Verification Services: Automated checks to determine contract fulfillment
Settlement Instructions: Telling Stripe whether to release or refund funds
Audit Trail: Cryptographic receipts and event logging

FinalTX does not:

Hold, custody, or control customer funds
Provide escrow services
Act as a money transmitter
Guarantee transaction outcomes

Fees

Disputes and Chargebacks

Contract Disputes: FinalTX does not mediate disputes between buyers and sellers. Verification outcomes are final and determine settlement.

Payment Disputes: Buyers may initiate chargebacks through their bank or card issuer. Chargebacks are handled by Stripe according to card network rules. Sellers may be liable for chargebacks even after receiving funds.
